Question by Arden☮: What are some major problems associated with childhood obesity?
What is the solution to childhood obesity?

Thank you in advance

Best answer:

Answer by Carpe DM™
There are huge problems with this… early childhood obesity could lead to life long health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, (regarding diseases and health issues… the list just goes on and on), low self esteem (bad self imaging), low quality of life and/or early death.

I believe the solution is that we as a nation (here in the U.S. at least) need to stress to every man, woman, and child the importance of eating healthy, eating the appropriate portions, exercising regularly (from a young age), and/or just staying active in general.

We are already seeing the stress that our unhealthy nation is putting on our health care system. Our current health care system is simply unsustainable if we as a nation don’t change.

The amount of unfunded money they have promised / “allotted” for Medicare is staggering! Things need to change in a hurry!

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Cheat Sum: What is a good persuasive topic for obesity?
I have a lot of good references and sources.
- half of tax pays for obesity
- Medicare declares obesity to be a disease
- Cultural norm has made us more unactive
- Large proportion of American food is malnutritious
- Ethnicity plays a role in obesity
- Technological advances = obesity
- Biological and environmental factors = obesity

These are some good info I found about obesity. I want to narrow down my topic into a persausive arguement. I’m writing a 10 page essay on this, so please help.
This essay is for a persuasive writing class (college). I have all these good info about obesity and I can find more.

My problem is that I don’t know how to find a good persausive topic for obesity.
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), half of tax goes to obesity. I found that info on their website.

Best answer:

Answer by Sarah C
Obesity was a sign of wealthy and now is a sign of poverty at least in most societies, but not all. There’s a contest in Africa for the fattest man and the winner gets his choice of beautiful women as a wife.

Question by Maggie: Does Anyone Have Any Creative Weight Loss Recipes?
I’m 19 and my husband is 22, we both have full-time jobs and are incredible busy, he is a computer technician that works a regular 9-5 job at a software developer and he runs his own business. I work as a sales representative for a wholesale shoe business, with a desk job that requires some but not much physical activity. I’ve always been a bit over weight and even though I just lost 30 pounds, have plateaued to 140, I’m 5’4 and do not consider myself fat, just I do have a few pounds to lose.My husband on the other hand, is 6’0 feet and 240 pounds which really worries me, he is a food lover of everything that is edible. And like I said, we are both extremely BUSY people so it’s hard to do groceries or take 30 minutes to walk everyday, but we do it anyway.

I’ve tried putting us on a “diet” which consists of 6 day’s of healthy eating and one day of eating whatever we wish.

But I’ve grown tired of the food I’ve been cooking which has been salmon, rice, beans, chicken, veggies, more chicken, we have steak once a week, and some sort of pasta, whether it’s spaghetti or fettuccine Alfredo once a week. I’ve noticed that the same things are sooooo boring and have found it hard to actually incorporate VEGETABLES in our diets. Fruits are easy, veggies are hard.

The recipes online are filled with vegetables that I don’t even know what they are or how to prepare. I’ve tried researching online any simple food recipes but the ones I have tried are just NOT my taste.

Anyone have their on recipes or an online source that has regular easy recipes for everyday people that don’t know how to pouch and what not?
BTW….

It’s not that I don’t have time because I have a 9-5 job. Like I said… we run our own business and going to open a store in Jan meaning we have absolutely NO time… except for today that I took a day off but my husband is STILL working (he’s been out since 8 am, will get home here at 12 am to wake up at 6 to go to work again, and we work 1 hour from where we live so add 2 hours of commute everyday). So it’s harsh when someone accuses us me of not working hard, of being lazy, of working less so I can just get “paid”. No… I work hard because I want my hard work to make ME wealthy, not to make other people wealthy through MY hard work… But like I said, I’ve been putting us on a diet plus excising at least for 30-45 min a day. SO don’t be harsh please .

Answer by melissa t
Have you tried Shock wave therapy. This is in an out patient setting and you will have 4 weeks of limited activity.
For more information I’ll give you a web page that will be a great source of information to help you decide if it is right for you or not. There are a number of resources there you can go to. Good Luck

Okay so I am about 5’4, I’m a young teen, and weigh about 120 lbs. I’m really looking for good tips on eating and any exercise that may help. I exercise twice a week and I’m about to start running an additional one maybe two times a week. My problem is that the weight won’t come off. Some may argue that I’m at a healthy weight because of my height but so far I have “love handles”, a large stomach, and thin legs. I also have a size 11 shoe in women’s, so I know I’m still growing.

If it helps I usually eat frosted flakes in the morning with 2% milk, a small lunch, and I eat too much at home.

Any and all tips are well appreciated!
